'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues clash with Manchester City.

Ethan Galbraith grins broadly as he recalls the dramatic final moments of his team's epic comeback win against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The encounter culminated with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses after the pitch-side pile-on.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith struck the post with a speculative effort from outside the box, and the defender promptly hammered in the rebound before racing off toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with the crowd congregating around the players.

Stunning Reversal

The result capped an incredible recovery given Swansea had been behind 2-0 midway through the final 45 minutes. In the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a supporter shouting out and myself and Keysy [Josh Key] were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we saw the glasses. It was a funny incident putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory booked a fourth-round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a club Galbraith ran close at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had arguably the best view when his former team took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's volley from about 45 yards going in via the crossbar and the Stefan Ortega. Many argued that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that far out," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before moving to right defensive wing after Orient changed formation. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the City players who complimented the way his former team approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the fundamentals and simple things, they can just execute repeatedly," the midfielder notes. "It feels like they always find their target and they know how to control and take the sting out of a game. You can feel you're doing well and then suddenly they will just deliver a through ball past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It requires a strong mentality and concentration just to keep pace."

New Chapter

The club were keen on Galbraith in January and secured his signature to sign him in the summer in a £1.5m deal. He established himself as a crowd pleaser across multiple campaigns at his former club and has quickly achieved similar status in his new home. At the London club he joined forces once more with his former manager, who four years ago gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a temporary move at lower division the Manchester club, before he moved on from Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was likely a somewhat inexperienced going into men's football. I think a lot of players would say youth team games is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without serious challenge. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing men's games you have to adjust fast."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that growth for his team and nation, performing well for the Green and White Army, who are fighting to qualify for the World Cup next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including two matches games against the German national team. His former international manager, Galbraith's ex- international manager, gave him the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "creative maestro" given how he controls possession and his ability to spot a killer pass.

Early Days

It has been quite the ride for the player from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who was raised observing his dad, Stuart, also a engine room operator, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Old Trafford Memory

His single match for United came in the away trip in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the arena covering was closed owing to the weather of bitter cold. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was cold out there," he recalls, grinning. "The preceding week, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to travel with the first team and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Moving On

What was the challenge was it to move on from Old Trafford, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "It was fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I wouldn't break through at the top level. I'm extremely thankful for the years at the club but it became apparent where I thought I had to take a different path, move to a lower level and play men's football. Now I'm steadily climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

It is the early part of the afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a driving theory test, another progress toward getting on the road. Until recently to Sketty, the young professional was a constant rider in Swansea's dubbed player transport, a team vehicle driven by club employees, the transport team, which transports players to and from training and matches.

"It's myself Gonçalo Franco, the Brazilian, the midfielder – a former passenger used to be in it but has started driving. It's pleasant to interact with the teammates but I'm hoping to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. His teammate enjoys practical jokes; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

During his time at Orient, Galbraith would mix with fans on London's Central line after commuting at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
